Homework in 062
Homework PolicyI allow a great deal of time for students to complete homework at school, because I know how busy students are and how important family time is. If your student seems to be bringing home a great deal of homework each week you might want to check in with them about how they are using their class time. I expect students to write assignments in their planner and use this tool to complete their work on time. Assignments are due by 8:30 on the date listed. If for some reason an assignment is late, each student has until Friday of that week to complete the assignment for half credit. This policy helps allow students to still earn credit, but teaches them responsibility and time management. This policy is very similar to what your student will experience in Junior High. It is my hope that during 6th grade we can train them to be responsible and timely with their work so they will be very successful in years to come.

Homework InformationEach week your student should be working on the following:
-Reading Log: This is a bookmark that allows your student to record their required page number goal each week. All students are currently at 50 pages. This is due each Thursday. On the back they should be recording three total sentences about what they read. The first book report will be due September 18th. -Spelling: We are using www.spellingcity.com this year in order to review for our spelling test each Friday. Students will have the assignments each Monday and can complete these at anytime before Friday. You can find their login information in their planner. -Vocabulary: Each week your student will be responsible for learning approximately 15 new words. There will be some type of activity for them to complete before the test on Friday. These activities will be assigned each Monday. |
